Xtreme Texas Offroad Hare Scramble @ BVORR 12/4-5/2010

On Saturday I raced in the hare scramble held by Xtreme Texas Offroad but Sunday I was a bit too sore to race.  So I decided to grab some pictures of the 1 hour and 2 hour races.  Overall it was a great event and can't wait to race in another one!

My new pup...Thor

Meet Thor (first picture), my new 15 week old male American Bully.  He has only been a part of my pack for a few days now but has already integrated well.  At the moment he is living with Beans (second picture) and Niko (third picture) but Rex (fourth picture) will be joining us shortly.

MOROC Extreme Off Road Racing- Brazos Valley Off Road Ranch Event Coverage...

I had the opportunity this past weekend to cover the MOROC Extreme Off Road Racing event being held at Brazos Valley Off Road Ranch in Bryan, Texas.  The weather was perfect, the track was very technical and fast and the competition was fierce; I could not have asked for a better weekend of racing.  There were a fair number of roll overs and lots of broken parts which kept things interesting.  The race teams did all they could to keep their rigs finishing the event.  A few teams even worked late into Saturday night to fix the damages from the day and to allow for them to be back on the track Sunday.  All in all it was a great weekend and I wanted to thank MOROC for putting on the event.  Most of the shots were taken with my 1d mkIII and 100mm 2.8L IS Macro.

Nothing says spring in Texas like Bluebonnets...

I decided to go out and grab some shots of the famous Bluebonnets here in Texas.  Everywhere you look right now in Texas you will see a field of Bluebonnets.  So I went out with my 1d mkIII and 100mm 2.8IS L and found this bee busy spreading the pollen and thought it was an interesting shot.  I will be going out a few more times while I have some down time in my schedule and shooting some more macro shots.

Some macro shots with Canon 100mm 2.8 IS L

It has been quite some time since I have had time to post up any updates to my blog.  My current schedule has kept me very busy so I can't complain but I wanted to load some recent snap shots with my 1d mkIII and 100mm f2.8 IS L.  These shots were taken without a tripod and the help of only 1 flash (580 ex II).  I can not say a single bad thing about this lens besides that I regret not buying it sooner.  I am going to be posting a lot more macro shots in the near future as I have rekindled my love of macro photography.

The Houston Zoo

I recently took a visit to the Houston Zoo while I had some down time in my schedule.  It was a rather cold day to go to the zoo but the animals didn't seem to mind as much as I did considering they were all out and fairly active.  I brought my 1d mkIII and 50mm 1.2L and 100mm 2.8L IS Macro along with me to grab some snap shots of some of the animals.  All in all I was happy with how they turned out given the overcast conditions I faced.
